Statement of Faith - I WE believe in one true God, who is the Creator of man and all things, absolutely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. WE believe that the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and infallible Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God¡¯s will for the salvation of man; and the divine and final authority for Christian faith and living. WE believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified for our sins, was buried, on the third day arose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven. He is now our High Priest and advocate at the right hand of the most high God. WE believe that the Holy Spirit is equal in substance and glory with God the Father and God the Son. That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict man, regenerate sinners, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower believers for godly living and services. WE believe that salvation is by God¡¯s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and was raised according to the Scriptures. Those who thus received Jesus Christ by faith have their sins forgiven and their consciences cleansed, and are made a new creation in Christ, and are reconciled to God. WE believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed by Christians during the present age as testimonies before God and man. WE believe that the Church Universal is the body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers, and that its members have been called out from the world to come under the dominion and authority of Christ, its head. W e believe that a local church is a fellowship of Christians and a part of the body of Christ, voluntarily bonded together for worship, nurture, evangelism and service. WE believe that the purpose of Christian life is to glorify God and to enjoy God forever. Christians should live faithfully by serving the Lord wholeheartedly , praying diligently, giving generously , witnessing earnestly, showing loving kindness to others , and conduct ing themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God. To carry out these ministries, the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is needed. This power is granted to every believer as he yields to and trusts in God. WE believe in the person al return of Jesus Christ and in the bodily resurrection of the dead. W e believe that Jesus Christ will judge all mankind , alive or dead, rewarding believers with eternal life and non-believers with eternal punishment. |
